'I remember every stone, every tree, the scent of heather, the music sweetest mortal ears can hear, the murmuring of the wind through the fir trees,' she recalled later.
How wonderfully beautiful to have those memories about somewhere special. I can just imagine what it is like to be recalling each and every detail about somewhere that touches my heart, to such depth. I love even more that her recollections are of the surrounding nature. It inspires me to pay more attention to what is going on around me.
The closest memories that I have in this way are recalling my senses while living in Alaska. I loved the fresh, clean, crisp air in my nostrils and lungs. I loved the cold wind against my cheeks, and I loved seeing the endless falling white snow and its creations around me. Whenever I think about Alaska, it makes me want to inhale a deep chilling breath and feel the brisk cold upon my cheeks.
